Projection design
Crafted a visual dramaturgy and performed live with the incredible body of work of celebrated Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky alongside the musical direction of Alexander Shelley of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and live performance by esse. UAQUE is an interwoven symphony with 80 performers and the images of Edward Burtynsky, who together merge multiple artistic mediums, to prompt collective transformation. UAQUE challenges the myth of human superiority, laying bare the consequences of our separation from the natural world through searching for a state of union, as referenced by the title meaning KIN, relative, neighbor, friend in Peña’s ancestral Indigenous Muisca language.
